NAZEERAH is a personal journey and mission. Named after my grandmother, Nazeerah, she was the seamstress in her village in Upper Egypt. She earned a living to support her family by sewing clothing for everyone in the community. NAZEERAH is to honor her and in honor of the artisans still keeping our history and culture alive. I hope that you’ll join me on this journey.
The Process and Mission.
Each scarf is handwoven by an artisan. Their techniques on the loom have been passed down through generations.
NAZEERAH strives to provide an avenue to revitalize dying art forms while providing the the artisans with independence and financial security. We want showcase the Egyptian textile community, rich in culture and history. Each artisan is paid a fair amount for their work and as the company grows we plan to give back to the artisans and their communities.
